Remote online notarization

Your notary, on your screen.

A Pennsylvania notary meets you on live video, verifies your identity properly, and seals a tamper-evident PDF. Valid in every state. Open until midnight, every day, with no after-hours surcharge.

Open late, every day

Sessions run every day, 7:00 AM – midnight ET. If your closing is at 9 PM or your shift ends at 11, I'm available, and the price is the same.

Identity done properly

Knowledge-based quiz, credential analysis of your ID, and a live comparison on camera, the three checks Pennsylvania requires. Failed proofing costs nothing.

Recorded and retained

The full audio-video session is encrypted and kept for at least ten years, so your notarization can be defended long after the signing.

Any state, most countries

Signers can be anywhere in the U.S., and often abroad when the document concerns a U.S. matter. I'll confirm the recipient accepts an electronically notarized document.

How it works

Four steps, about thirty minutes.

  1. 01

    Book and upload

Choose a time (seven days a week, until midnight), upload the unsigned PDF or photo of your document, and tell me where it's going. Your confirmation and calendar invite arrive instantly.

  2. 02

    Verify your identity

From your personal link you answer a short knowledge quiz drawn from public records, then photograph your ID. Pennsylvania requires both; it takes about three minutes.

  3. 03

    Meet on live video

We confirm you understand the document and are signing willingly, you sign electronically, and I apply my electronic signature and seal. The session is recorded, as the law requires.

  4. 04

    Receive the sealed PDF

The tamper-evident PDF is delivered to you right away and retained in my records for ten years. Anyone can verify the seal; nobody can alter it without breaking it.

Pricing

$25 for the first act. $10 for each one after.

Pennsylvania caps the notarial fee at $5 per act and allows up to $20 for the remote technology that verifies you and records the session. I charge the full technology fee once, then $5 for each additional act in the same session. Everything is itemized.

  • No deposit. Pay by card or Apple Pay at the end of the session.
  • Witness arranged when your document needs one: $15
  • Identity proofing fails? $0. We switch to a mobile visit if you're local.

Online FAQ

Before you book

Is a remote online notarization valid in my state?
A notarization performed under Pennsylvania law by a Pennsylvania notary is valid as a Pennsylvania notarial act, and every state recognizes notarial acts performed in other states. The practical question is whether the recipient accepts an electronic document; most do, and I'll confirm for you before we book if you tell me where it's going.
What equipment do I need?
A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and microphone, a steady internet connection, and your current ID. Chrome or Safari. There is no software to install.
Can I be outside the United States?
Often, yes. Pennsylvania allows it when the document relates to a matter before a U.S. court or government agency, involves property in the U.S., or is substantially connected with the U.S., and the act isn't prohibited where you are.
Is the session recorded?
Yes. The full audio-video session is recorded and retained for at least ten years, as Pennsylvania requires. It protects you if anyone later questions the signing.
What if I fail the identity quiz?
You get a second attempt with new questions. If that fails, we can't proceed online that day; a mobile appointment with your physical ID is the alternative. No notarial fee is charged for a failed proofing.
How does the online session actually work?
You open a personal link from your confirmation, upload or confirm the document, verify your identity with a short quiz and a photo of your ID, then we meet on live video. You sign electronically, I apply my electronic seal and signature, and the tamper-evident PDF is delivered to you. Step-by-step guide.
